Outreach Program

Students will learn about the biological and psychological processes involved in learning, including brain function and structure, memory, and the role of neurons and synapses.

To explore research-backed strategies and techniques to enhance their learning capabilities, such as employing focused and diffuse modes of thinking, utilizing effective memory techniques, and applying critical thinking skills.

By breaking free from fixed patterns of thinking, overcoming cognitive bias, and fostering creativity and open-mindedness, students will be encouraged to approach problems from different angles and think outside the box.

Students will learn how to use metaphors and analogies as mental tools to enhance understanding and memory. They will practice creating and using metaphors to connect new information to familiar concepts.

Students will gain practical tools and strategies to combat procrastination, manage their time effectively, and increase productivity. They will also learn motivation strategies to stay focused on their learning goals.

Students will have opportunities to apply the learning strategies and techniques they have acquired to real academic subjects and problems. They will be able to see the immediate benefits of using these strategies in their studies and improve their understanding and retention of the material.

Our company’s consultant is Mr. Luke McGuinniety, PCL London LLB University of Reading, Berkshire B.Ed Hons, who brings ample educational experience from his previous work as a teacher at Island School (ESF). He is practicing law as a barrister at Fairmont Chambers.

Our students have consistently achieved outstanding IGCSE and IB results throughout the years, with 85% or above of our students having achieved A*/A for their final IGCSEs. In recent years, two of our students have achieved the record breaking 45 points out of the maximum 45 marks for their IB results.

In 2021, our student Brian Wong, who is the Top Scorer in IGCSE with all 9 points in 12 subjects.

The program runs top up courses including business studies, economics, mathematics, additional mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology. Your school and individual learners have the option to flexibly choose the subjects they wish to adopt or study. Each subject is offered for two sessions per week on top of the students’ regular classes. The topics will be studied in depth for a period of two years before the final examinations. 

The IGCSE Top Up Program practices small group learning with around 5-20 students per class only, allowing our tutors to focus on each student’s individual needs. Our tutors will deliver the courses in an interactive and detailed manner. All custom-made notes and supplementary materials will be provided free of charge.

We are committed to working in close partnership with teachers, parents and students in this venture. To show our commitment both inside and outside the course structure, we provide free consultation and extra-personalized lessons to cater our students’ individual educational needs. The center is willing to provide these services under considerable circumstances. Students are also given their subject tutor’s contact method in order to encourage them settle any academic enquiries should they encounter any problems throughout their studies in this program. Our tutors undertake to address each student’s academic queries to the best of their endeavors and hope to ensure a supportive environment for learning.
